Hidden self-seeking, timid emotional language

Ahn Hyun-jung (doctor of art philosophy, art critic)

Kim Kyung-won's screen resembles a lyric poem written on a white margin. This is because Sung-jung, a writer who likes white paper, has been completely melted into the subject of his work. The task of shifting intuitive beliefs to the canvas, not planned paintings, is a process of finding the author's hidden inner self and an inner power that provides healing and rest for the viewer.

a world of flowers and newly dotted purity

When we often see flowers, we think of butterflies rather than birds. This is because the appearance of a butterfly's chin being united in contact with a flower not only reminds us of its deep fragrance, but also embodies order and harmony through coexistence. A world of coexistence without mine and without yours, it makes flowers and butterflies look like one. But there are no butterflies in the author's world. Many birds that gather as objects, not scents, seem to chirp beautifully with their voices This curious combination, called flower and bird, and flower, talks about two rather than one and the whole. Rather than seeking a net to abandon me like a flower and a butterfly and enter the stage of Muah's reign, I yearn for the pure innocence of childhood that has kept me from enduring. Nevertheless, the fairy tale-like pretty screen beckons the viewer to remove his guard and walk to the world in the painting. The accumulated life experiences melt into nested pigments that pile up ten or twenty times, translating "writer's labor" into "beautiful jubilation." The delicate brushstrokes, which raised traditional ingredients like Matierre of Yuhwa, captured the possibility of a young day that was recovered after enduring a hard life. So the screen of the author represents a childlike world of purity, with dexterous skill lightly stepped on.

personified flower, small world raised in the flour

The flower that caught the writer's eye in the middle was ironically a small white wild flower, a plum flower that shaped a soldier, a flower that tows the modern day, and a colorful flower with an overflowing presence. Then, why did the writer be so close to flowers? After graduating from college, the hours dotted with "mother, wife" and so on were hard times for a writer. One point facing middle age was a monologue to undo the lost years. Maybe that's why he moved to a place with lower temperatures than in Seoul. In 2006, it was a wild flower-shaped wild flower thrown into a corner that caught the author's eye at a small flower shop that was carried in by Lee Yu-mo's attraction. Just as he found himself thrown toward the world, from then on the author began to paint small white wildflowers that resembled him in the multitasking of one-man After realizing the nature of the quietly shining wild flower in the colorful world, the flower became a writer and the author became a flower. Thus, the flowers in the work shine with a presence that does not fade into the colorful world, even as they are expressed with thick brushstrokes rather than the background.

an imaginary bird that awakened the inner sound.

Each bird's figure in the work is expressed in a different way. As if singing various emotions, the eyes of the swings sometimes move with a cheerful, pious melody. Between small flower beds and small spaces where white flowers quietly glow, flowers and birds meet at the same size to sing a section of life. The figure captured a free world without any restraint. There's no way to get caught, no way to obsess In the freedom of sitting on this flower and moving to another, the author seeks to console our lives, which cannot be free of anything. Early birds were hard, sharp, distorted, conscious birds. The yearning for a re-started work in his early 40s was filled with a will to learn The follow-up of the existing system and the departure from the abstract work of ink-and-wall painting have become a reality as a "bird with distorted features." The heavy reality and life homework began to slip away little by little in time for discovering wild flowers. The so-called magnetized workbook has changed the whole world of interest. Just as Kandinsky had learned from his inverted work, the transition of thought had been sought from the sounds outside the window. As he began to feel the air and nature he had never felt before in his original place, the chirping of birds, such as the fresh scent, settled down in the author's mind. But no real bird was found in it. In times of physical and mental hardship, the bird chirping, which came unanticipatedly, became a clear and dreamy inner sound and was sublimated to the work.

an idealized world facing reality

In recent work, two elements were added that were not seen in previous tasks. The first is that the flowers, which had been scattered individually, have a unified shape. It seems that the personified writer's perspective is represented by the modernized tone (feels like a bird is reciting a poem). The color is also reinterpreted as modernizing traditional pentagon. Empty and sad is a testament to the fact that you have endured life. The author showed the erasing and erasing of the 2014 conceptual Garden series. If the existing work has melted the sad sentiment, the present work is happy and fluent. The author remembered the splendor of the peonies and peony blooming in his front yard that he had in his childhood. The world of small flowers, shaped as a single flower, represents a positive reward for years to endure. So the work melts the writer's heart to the smallest detail. From wild flowers (wild flowers) to plum flowers, to more colorful flowers, the author will reveal his will to change his life through the flower's transformation.

The second is that a kind of dépayment is used in the work. On a colorful chair reminiscent of the throne, the birds sit down in colorful shapes and look at the world of flowers on the screen. The appearance of a fancy chair shows a determined willingness to take a break, while asking for "La Belle eepoque" like the return of the king. The poet Lautréamont once described the surreal technique of expressing flowers, birds, chairs and other things as "the beauty that completely unrelated objects, such as sewing machines, bats and umbrellas, seem to bump into each other on the seafront." The act of taking a familiar object out of a routine order and placing it in such an unexpected place, just like Dali's watch, leads our time and space to a world of unconsciousness full of wonder and mystery. In other words, a window that emancipates the unconscious world that was deeply latent in the writer's mind, and a chair, is an escape that leads us to a different life.

"The process of drawing was to discover myself. As I was comforted in my work, I hope that the people who see my paintings can rest in the chairs in the works." - Among the author notes,
